Prepared, not panicked Emergency checklist

About Us – Who’s Behind LAGEBEREIT

Prepared, not panicked.

LAGEBEREIT helps households in Germany prepare calmly and with a plan for power outages, severe weather, flooding, or evacuation – no doomsday mood, no politics, no conspiracy theories.

Who’s behind this?

LAGEBEREIT is run by a former soldier and recruit and operations instructor. That background shaped the principle behind every guide here: if something needs to work in a real emergency, it has to be explained simply and practiced beforehand. We deliberately appear without a face or name – this is about the content, not a person. The person responsible under German press law is named in the legal notice (Impressum).

Where does our information come from?

We cross-check quantities, timeframes, temperatures, and safety guidance against official and expert sources, especially the BBK (Germany’s Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance), the DRK (German Red Cross), the THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief), the Federal Environment Agency, consumer protection agencies (Verbraucherzentrale), the German Weather Service (DWD), and the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). Sources used are listed under each article. Where no reliable figure exists, we leave it out rather than guess.

What we are not

We do not replace any government agency, emergency service, or medical or legal advice. For medication, health questions, and legal questions (e.g., knife and weapons law), we refer you to professionals. In an emergency, always call 112.

How our articles are made

Our articles are created with the support of AI tools. Every recommendation is checked against the sources listed and reviewed editorially before publication. Featured images are AI-generated stock-style illustrations and are labeled as such.

Updates

Recommendations change over time. When we substantively revise an article, the date of the last update appears at the top of the article.

Advertising and product recommendations

Some articles contain product comparisons with Amazon affiliate links. These are marked with * and labeled “Ad.” If you buy through one of these links, we earn a commission; the price for you stays the same. We have not personally tested these products – we select them based on manufacturer information and customer reviews, and we say so openly. Whether a product is included in an article is decided by its value for preparedness, not by the commission.
